At the opening of the footage the NEW GNR 640 mobile system crushing and screening plant is shown as a whole, positioned on site. Moving along the length of the chassis, the camera introduces all the units in a single pass, from the feed end to the screen platform.

Once production starts, the descent of the run-of-mine material discharged into the hopper from the feeder to the crusher, and then the distribution of the material over the screen decks, are followed in order. It is apparent from the footage that in the new system the belt layout is tidier, the return line has been shortened and access to the maintenance points has been made easier.

The field equivalent of a compact layout is that a smaller area is needed for the same production. On narrow quarry platforms or on urban sites, this difference becomes the factor that directly determines whether the plant can be erected at all.
