90 Fixed stone Crushing and Screening Plant - Azerbaijan

Manufacturing of the rock salt crushing and screening plant to be used in Azerbaijan for the Salt Project has been completed and its transport has begun. The main equipment of the 90 stationary crushing and screening plant is ready.

Rock salt behaves quite differently from stone on the crushing side. Because its hardness is low, what matters is not crusher power but the moisture and abrasion behaviour of the material.

The real problem is moisture.

Salt is hygroscopic; because it draws moisture from the air, it cakes at the feed opening and on the screen surface. Transfer points are therefore kept enclosed and screen apertures are selected so as to prevent blinding.

Corrosion is the second heading: in a salty environment standard steel deteriorates quickly, and material selection and surface protection on contact surfaces directly determine the life of the line. Choosing salt-resistant conveyor belts and screen mesh as well prevents the line from needing an overhaul at the end of its first year.
