Vibrating Sand Feeder Bunkers
Vibrating sand feeder bunkers shown during manufacturing and in operation, with spring packs confining the vibration to the trough.
This recording shows the vibrating sand feeder bunkers together with their manufacturing and operating moments. The width of the bunker mouth and the inclination of the feeder trough beneath it become apparent as the camera passes along the side.
In the images the brackets on which the vibrating motors are mounted to the side of the trough, the spring packs and the inner surface clad with wear plate are noticeable. The end section where the feeder drops material onto the belt inlet is also taken in close-up.

The spring packs confine the vibration to the trough and prevent it from passing to the chassis; when the springs fatigue, the vibration spreads to the body, the welds crack and the feeding becomes irregular. The symmetrical spring arrangement seen in the video was set up to distribute this load evenly.
