VSI Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher - Sand Machine

The VSI vertical shaft impact crusher is filmed in the recording while producing sand, both from the outside and from the feed mouth. The camera starts at the top cover where the rotor turns and comes down to the discharge belt.

In the footage it can be seen that the material drops from the centre onto the rotor and, thrown outwards, strikes the wall of the crushing chamber and its own bed. It is noticeable that the product on the discharge belt is cubical rather than angular and that the fines ratio stays under control. The low body vibration while the machine runs shows that the rotor balance has been set correctly.

The sand produced is cubical in form and homogeneous.

Grain shape is decisive for concrete and asphalt. Flat and elongated grains leave voids in the mix and raise the water and cement requirement; a cubical grain, on the other hand, gives higher strength with less binder. That is why a vertical shaft crusher is positioned as a shaping stage at the end of the line.
