We have completed the export of the GNR VSI 900 vertical shaft impact crusher, which is highly successful at producing sand at high capacity. What determines the economics in a sand quarry is not tonnage but the proportion of fines. How much of the material coming off the same line falls into the saleable sand fraction directly changes the revenue per ton.

A vertical shaft crusher raises that proportion.

Because the material is accelerated by the rotor and thrown against a surface, the grain is shaped as it breaks; compared with compressive crushers, both more fines and a more cubical product come out. This is why this stage is added at the end of the line in quarries with demand for manufactured sand.

The choice between the stationary and mobile version looks at the life of the quarry: if the reserve is long-lived, the stationary body seated on a foundation comes to the fore; if the site changes, the mobile unit carrying its own power pack does.
