The Big 5 Construct Ethiopia: a Busy Opening Day at Our Stand

The Big 5 Construct Ethiopia opened its doors on 18, 19 and 20 May 2023, bringing together construction, construction machinery and infrastructure. On the first day of the fair our stand was hardly ever empty.

Opening day tends to be the most crowded. Visitors have not yet toured every hall, so they are in no position to compare; their questions are general and aimed at getting to know the product.

As the days pass, the questions get sharper.

Someone who has walked round the other exhibitors' stands is no longer curious about capacity but about the difference: between two lines that deliver the same tonnage, how do wear costs, energy use and service support compare? The answers to those questions usually come from plants running in the field rather than from a brochure.

That is why the technical material we keep to hand at the stand changes during the fair. On day one the general catalogue takes the lead; on later days, capacity tables prepared from quarry analysis and references from installed plants come onto the table.
