GE-2 Vibrating Screen Shipped to Ege Çelik in Izmir for Slag Screening

The GE-2 heavy-duty vibrating screen ordered by Ege Çelik has left our factory. Built with two decks, the GE-2 was designed to screen slag of various kinds and similar materials efficiently and to stay in service for many years.

Slag is not like the natural aggregate that comes out of a quarry. It is produced as a by-product of steelmaking and may contain pieces of metal, so the screen surface carries a much heavier load than with standard aggregate.

That is exactly why the screen is classed as "heavy duty".

The thickness of the plate used in the body, the springs, the bearings and the type of screen mesh are all specified to be tougher than in an ordinary aggregate screen. Without that choice, the screen falls far short of its expected life.

Putting slag to use also brings an environmental benefit: rather than sitting on a waste site, it can be separated by size and reused in road fill and as a cement additive.
