The 2023 Model Basalt Crushing and Screening Plant carries out crushing, screening and stockpiling at a capacity of 450 - 500 tonnes per hour. Basalt is one of the most demanding materials on the crushing side. Because its hardness and abrasiveness are high, crusher selection is written directly into operating cost; on this material, where impact elements wear out quickly, crushers that work by compression come to the fore.

In the 450-500 tonne band the calculation grows.

At this tonnage the line is not built with a single machine; the primary, secondary and screening stages are sized separately, and the conveyor lines between them are selected for the same flow rate. Since the slowest stage determines capacity, screen area is calculated together with crusher capacity.

Stockpiling is part of the design as well: at this flow rate, if the fractions are not carried to separate piles they get mixed during loading and no fraction guarantee can be given at the point of sale.
