2023 Model Basalt Line: Crushing, Screening and Stockpiling Layout at 450-500 t/h

Running at between 450 and 500 tonnes per hour, the 2023 model basalt line handles stockpiling within the same layout as crushing and screening. With more than 50 years of accumulated know-how, General Makina carries out planning, engineering and manufacturing in-house for different rock and mineral types, and this layout is one result of that experience.

Basalt is not an easy rock to break. It is hard and highly abrasive, so the choice of crusher shows up directly in operating cost. On a stone that wears out impact parts quickly, machines that crush by compression hold the advantage.

Once tonnage reaches the 450-500 band, the sums get bigger.

No single machine can carry that flow. Primary crushing, secondary crushing and screening stages are dimensioned independently, and the conveyors linking them are chosen for the same throughput. Because the slowest stage sets the real capacity of the line, screen area is worked out together with crusher capacity.

The stockpile arrangement belongs to the design too. At this flow, if each fraction is not conveyed to its own pile, products blend during loading and it becomes impossible to give the buyer a fraction guarantee.
