MiningMetals Uzbekistan 2024: Crushing and Screening for Ore Preparation in Tashkent

A visitor who stops at a crushing and screening stand at a mining fair asks a different question from someone at an aggregate fair. They already know what size the ore has to be reduced to; what they really want to know is which sequence of stages will get them there.

Ore preparation is the first link in the whole chain.

The crushing and grinding stages supply material to the beneficiation plant. If the product leaving these stages is not at the required size, the efficiency of flotation or magnetic separation drops. The success of the crushing line is therefore judged not on its own but together with the plant behind it.

This puts continuity near the top of the agenda alongside capacity. When ore preparation stops, the entire plant behind it stops as well; for that reason the spare parts and maintenance plan becomes an inseparable part of the investment decision.
