The real reason for making the tertiary mobile is to be able to move into sand production without touching the rest of the line. The unit is connected to the outlet of an existing primary-secondary line; when demand ends, the same unit is towed to another site without being dismantled.

This turns the investment into stages.

The operation first sets up the crushing and screening line and adds the tertiary stage when sand demand appears. Growing as demand emerges, instead of building a fully equipped line in one go, is preferred especially in newly opened quarries.

The size of the tertiary stage to be added is chosen according to the secondary outlet of the existing line: the unit is sized to match the fraction accumulating on the screen.
