Built for Hard Rock: General 944 Mobile Crushing and Screening Plant Reaches Its African Site

The General 944 Mobile Cone Crusher Plant, one of the newest additions to the range of crushing, screening and concrete equipment we build, has arrived safely at its delivery point in Africa.

The General 944 has a two-stage layout: a GPJ 90 jaw crusher works at the primary stage and a GM430 cone crusher at the secondary stage, giving the line a production capacity of 120-180 t/h. The plant was designed with hard, highly abrasive feed in mind: quartz, chrome, iron ore, granite or basalt.
Both crushers on this line break material by compression.
With materials like these, the blow bars of an impact body wear out quickly, whereas the jaw and cone crusher combination can run in the same quarry with far less frequent part changes. Because the cone stage also produces cubical grains, product shape does not suffer from this choice.
On African sites spare parts take time to arrive, so this choice is reflected directly in downtime: fewer changes mean shorter waits. When higher tonnage is required, larger models designed with the same hard-rock approach come into play.
