In this recording the mobile mechanical stabilization plant is observed producing mixture right beside the road site, in the area where it was erected; the aggregate compartments, the weighing belt and the mixer are seen in the same frame.
In the images the loader fills different fractions into separate compartments, and the belt feeder under each compartment drops its own share onto the weighing belt. The transfer of the collected mixture to the screw and from there to the mixer pan is followed without interruption, together with the water and binder line coming into operation.
Keeping the proportions constant is the essence of the job.
In mechanical stabilization, the bearing capacity of the base layer depends on the conformity of the grain distribution in the mixture to the specification. The continuous and balanced running of the separate feeders in the video shows that the recipe can stay the same in every truckload; even one compartment running empty changes the behaviour of the layer.
The fact that the plant was erected at the edge of the site tells that, thanks to the short haulage distance, the mixture can be laid without deteriorating. At the end of the shot, the loaded truck setting off immediately sums up the real gain of a mobile installation in road construction.
