Mobile Washing and Screening Plant Shipped to Manisa: Choosing the Washer by Clay Content

Our mobile washing and screening plant is on its way to be installed at a site in Manisa. The job of this line is to clean the clay and silt out of the sand in the quarry material.

How successful washing turns out to be depends on the equipment used, and the equipment depends on how much clay the quarry holds. On sites with little clay, a bucket washer does the job: the buckets on the rotating wheel take the clay out of the material, energy use stays low and installation is not complicated.

In a quarry with a high clay content, however, that solution falls short.

On such sites the spiral scrubbing of a screw washer comes into play, and the soil clinging to the grain surfaces is stripped away mechanically. The moisture of the sand produced is in the 15-30% range if no dewatering unit is used, and 8-20% if one is.

Although washing takes place at the final stage of the line, the choice of washer is made at the start of the project, because the crusher and screen layout is built around the size range of the material to be washed.
