Belt Conveyor — Conveyor Belt and Material Handling Systems

A belt conveyor continuously moves material between the stages of a crushing-screening-washing plant (crusher → screen → washer → stockpile/plant). General Makina builds conveyor belts in 7 widths from 500 to 1200 mm, to any required length, with a capacity of 50-1000 tph.
How it works
A rubber-lagged drive pulley moves the endless belt; the tail pulley returns it. Carrying idlers (ø76 mm, max. 1 m spacing) support the loaded top run, and return idlers (3 m spacing) support the bottom run. Capacity is set by belt width + incline + speed: a wider belt and higher speed raise capacity, while a steeper incline lowers the maximum and steep angles require a chevron belt. At the loading point, rubber-lagged impact idlers protect the belt and scrapers keep it clean.
Role in the plant
The belt conveyor is the plant's circulation system: it links every machine together. Capacity is planned through the width-incline-speed trio; the wrong incline or width causes spillage, slippage, wear and downtime. In quarry stockpiling, stage transfer, truck/silo loading and radial stacking, the any-length option is a real advantage.

Component brand transparency
As a trust signal we name our component brands openly: belt from Kale (endless hot-vulcanized, EP polyurethane cord), motor from Gamak/Emtaş, gearbox from Polat/Ege. Taper-bushed pulleys, felted skid take-up bearings and front/rear scraper blades are standard.
Optional automation and safety
A PLC-controlled automatic lubrication system, a pull-cord emergency switch, a speed counter and a backstop gearbox are optional. The modular bolted frame simplifies transport and installation.
Complete plant solution
General Makina engineers the conveyor line together with feeders, crushers, screens, washers and spare parts (idlers, pulleys, belting, scrapers) from a single supplier — one point of contact, one accountable party.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which belt widths are available?
We build 7 widths — 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000 and 1200 mm — to any required length.
What determines belt capacity?
Capacity is set by belt width, incline and speed together; General Makina conveyors run in the 50-1000 tph range.
Which belt is used on steep inclines?
For steep angles a chevron or cleated belt is used; the raised surface prevents material from sliding back.
Which belt is needed under an impact crusher?
Under impact loading an EP 125 – 4-ply belt is preferred; standard lines use EP 100 – 4-ply.
What safety and automation options are there?
Optionally we offer PLC automatic lubrication, a pull-cord emergency switch, a speed counter and a backstop gearbox.
